"We" are actually myself, Ashley, and family and friends who help out here and there. I have had an interest in rats since I was in high school, about 15 years ago. It's only recently that I've had the time and ability to pursue my interests with quality breeding stock. I have a degree in English literature, a minor (and work history) in Criminal Justice, and I currently work from home as a website moderator and social media engagement.
"Mythril"?
The name "Mythril" is actually derived from the word "mithril", which is a fictional metal found in the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien, being present in his Middle-earth. The name mithril comes from two words in Tolkien's Sindarin language—mith, meaning "grey" or "mist", and ril meaning "glitter". I chose this name because it represents my love for the works of Tolkien and my breeding goals, which involve silvermane and other colors such as Russian blue.
Housing
Our rats are housed in a variety of cages, including Critter Nations and modified bin cages. We provide our rats with quality feed and bedding, and only purchase laboratory quality supplies to accomplish this. Please note that to ensure the continued health of our rats, we run a closed rattery, which means that we don't typically allow visitors. We appreciate your understanding!

Health
We place a tremendous amount of importance on the health of our rats and their offspring. Both lines of our stock have been tested for the Seoul virus and are negative. We strive to breed healthy rats and are always working on increasing longevity.
